binliner 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Share Posted May 24, 2004 you can get high temp engine paints from Halfords.... to get a mirror finish you need to start with 40 or 80 grade sandpaper (or drill attachment if you're careful) to get rid of the texture then go to 120 grade wet n dry followed by 240, 400, 600, 800 then 1200/1500 to finish! use each grade until it has removed the scratches left behind by the last grade and use plenty of clean water with a bit of washing up liquid (a spray bottle is handy to keep it clean)... finish off polishing it with autosol.Ive just bought a polishing kit to attach to a drill which take out a lot of the hard work... £45 from frosts Link to post Share on other sites
