vr6matt 0
Hey All,Got my induction kit yesterday from vdubgirl Its a ramair and its circumference is pretty much the size of a dinner plate !amazed Was just wanting to know the best way to fit this bad boy - i.e avoiding heat soak and the best intake.Shall I leave the bottom of the airbox on and mount it in that? Or shall I strip the whole airbox off and put a feed to the filter?Also... I think i remember reading that some people take the air flow sensor off for a while and plug it back in to let the ECU remap to the new intake settings? Is this correct or am i just crazy? Lol !lol Advice AppreciatedMatt
Slim 0
Take airbox off, connect it to MAF, tighten jubilee clips, job done.Heatsoak is going to be a problem no matter what you do, get a sheet metal worker to fabricate you a heat shield if possible, but due to the sheer size of it, your choices are limited. I've had a RamAir ProRam on my car for about a year and a half, not had any significant heat soak problems, certainly nothing noticeable.I'd leave things like ECU and air flow sensors alone, totally unnecessary. VR6Pete 1,455
It's really that simple, if you wish to produce a guide for fitting an induction kit, then VR6OC will pay you a fiver under our write a guide scheme.Thanks.Pete
katconcarne 0
I got a piece of scrap ally from a mate and drilled two holes in it that line up with the air box mountings, colour coded the metal then bolted it on. Then got a piece of vaccuum hose (actually from a vaccuum cleaner - I'm a cheap skate!) and Bob's your aunty I've got a nice cool cone air filter (took me all day, but looks cool!).Katie
