These heat insulating intake manifold gaskets have been out for a few months now, and are supposed to stop heat transfer from the engine to the inlet manifold and hence keep charge temperatures down.

I guess the biggest improvements would be seen on VRs with turbos or superchargers. Has anyone tried one?

Can't see that making much difference but combined with a late plastic cam cover would help lower intake temps significantly.

I haven't tried that. Looks similar to a spacer. Do special plastic cam covers lower temps in the engine on n/a cars as well (on their own)? Mighty vr6 where did you get your stainless steel cam cover?

the intake still goes over the engine,so there will still be heat soak,but thet one fore the 1.8t engine should work

but if the price isn´t too high then you could be the try out person he he.

matth76, its just a polished manifold with no cover.

They will be of some benifit if your running high boost presures.

I know for a fact on 1.8t's when running high boost the do make a difference. Think Jabbasport have been using them for quite a while now.
