I had my alarm fitted, on the way home I booted it on the A12 in 3rd, when I went to change gear, the engine revs went through the roof.

What had happened was the accelerator pedal had got stuck behind the plastic trim/kick box cos it haddent been put back in far enough.

Just wondered what if any damage I could have done to the engine having it sat at full revs for 5ish seconds. Had to have my foot on the clutch cos otherwise I would have steamed straight into the cars ahead of me. :@

well, if its still in one piece i wouldn't worry!

i know of a racing driver who changed down instead of up (on a sequential box) at thruxton this year and managed to rev to 10000rpm in a clio cup car (limiter is at 7500, but couldn't handle it!), and its fine. so i wouldn't worry too much! lol
