Woodyvr6 0
Hello,I'm looking to buy a 5 Door Golf VR6 as a runabout but I know very little about these cars. First up what's all this ODB business I see mentioned and which one should I go for? What does the Highline have over a normal VR6.Is there a particular year that is good and why?Are VR6's any good? I gather the suspension is supposed to be lacking slightly - what's the best option to rectify this? What BHP do they output and what sort of performance to they achieve (0-60 etc). What should I look out for (known expensive problems).Thanks. Zonda_ 0
The early cars up to 95 have the OBD1 engine system, after that they had OBD2. Someone more knowledgeale than me can fill you in on the exact differences! As to which one you should go for, I'm on my 3rd Vento VR6, the first 2 are OBD1 and this is OBD2 and I see no difference except better fuel economy in the later OBD2 car.Highlines only came in a few colours and were slightly higher spec I believe. No differences mechanically. No particular year is better than the others. The suspension is sloppy as standard and they certainly benefit from being lowered and stiffened. I use my older car on track and it will pass Elises.Standard bhp is 174. More is easily acheivable.0-60 is around the 7 second mark.

Zonda_ 0
One one of mine I just have 40 mm lowering springs with standard dampers and the other has HK Coilovers. Reasonably priced at £400 odd.
