petervr6 0
KT-57,5 x 16"5x100/112ET 3057,1how does the et work like this size for et30 does this make the wheel stick in or out i.e would this catch the calipers or arch.or is et35 better.bit confused as i e-mailed the wheels shop and they asking for the above size with et35 and they say they have et30. francisjonno 2
see http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.aspI think orginal wheels have et43. Basically the lower the ET the further out the wheels will stick out of your arch. This is asked a lot, a search for "offset" on this site will turn up loads more info. francisjonno 2
Assuming your original wheels are 6.5in wide with et43 the outer edge of your rim will be extended by 26mm but you shouldn't have any problems with the wheels rubbing on the strut as the inner distance is unchanged.Hope this helps
petervr6 0
thanks for that very handy ill have to save that to favorites.but according to that calculator if i put 8Jx16 ET30 its the same.but surely that would catch the arch maybe with ET35 it wont but the calculator also says thats the same. francisjonno 2
Not sure what your saying? It changes when I change the figs (you are pressing 'calculate' each time you make a change?)The calculator only lets you know how the change in offset and wheel width will position the wheel in the arch. It doesn't calc for wheel diameter i.e. you could get 20inch rims with a width and offset where the calculator says inner and outer clearance are unchanged but obviously there is no way a 20" would fit imo - assuming you're going to lower your car quite a bit you're going to have to get your arches rolled with 8x16 rims irrespective of et30 or et35, to prevent rubbing. So personally i'd go with et30 because if the arches are rolled anyway i'd want to have more inner clearance.Just my 2p (ps. i'm trying to fit 17's with et21! )
