OLYVR6 0
Anyone with any ideas what pressures i should be running on a 95 Golf VR6 with 205/50/R16 wheels fitted?Help!!!!Ollie (
Matt W 4
Those tyres seem to be the wrong size, on a 16" rim its generally recommended to have a 40 profile tyre not a 50. Did you get the wheels froma MK4 Golf by any chance hene the wrong profile tyres?
antera309 3
I'm never sure what the pressures should be for 205/40/17s n 17" wheels either. I assume 28psi?
purple highline monster 0
got 32 front and 33 in rears on mine (205 40 17`s) 28 is a bit low mate.
OLYVR6 0
Nope, thats the size of the tyres on the car. Bought it with them on so no idea where they came from. Little bit of scraping at full lock but other than that they seem fine. Been experimenting tho folks ran 35 the other day and the car was handling like a drunk on the way home, pulling all over the place. Put it up to 36 on the front today and that seems ok, turn in still a bit sluggish tho. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated 8)
OLYVR6 0
Just to let you know guys. have been messing bout with the pressures and it seems like 37 front and 35 rear seems to work a treat on my rims. Turn in etc good and dosent affect mpg too badly. Does slide a bit but is very predictable and controllable. Laterz...Ollie
francisjonno 2
Didn't mk3 anniversarys come with 205/45/16's? Rather than 40 or 50 profiles!45 profile gives the closest rolling radius to regular 205/50/15If you ran this profile OlyVR6 you shouldn't have any rubbing issues - assuming you're not too low
Matt W 4
No unfortunately Mk3 Annivesary's came with 215/40 R16 tyres, maybe not the best size but i can't complain!
OLYVR6 0
Running a bit lower than standard but on 16's bud so rubbing is a bit of a nightmare on full lock. ONly comes from drivers side wheel arch tho? is this usual?
