make sure you get all the new rubber o rings, think your need 3?also replace the thermo housing gasket its a square type rubbers seal the sits between the housing and the engine block.the hardest part is pushing that black pipe (the one that runs across the front of engine)into the back of were the water pump is as you cant get your hands near it and youv just gotta line it up and push it in hard, trying to do that with out damaging the new o ring takes a bit of time mate.

front end has to stay on cus i have aircon:( will be moving it a bit tho :) what about if i put sealant over the oring to help it in?

would it be easier to go from underneath?

and the bolts that hold the water pump in, has anyone had trouble getting them out(rounded bolts etc)

cus i want a pretty smooth day

many thanks for the tips lads

I took both the upper and lower manifolds off, its a bugger to do but makes the job sooooo much easier.

I found it hard getting the crack pipe in also but cos mine was one of the metal ones i use a bit of wood and a hammer and it went in fine once i found the right angle. As its a plastic one take your time and it should work out fine :)

Ps i did all work from above
