chris harrison 0
hi all. im guna buy some new alloys, i knew that 17s (225-40-17) will go on without a hitch, and that you can lower it aswell without a prob. but goin to the shop, and seeing these rs 8 18s, and after gettin a couple of them next to the car, desided that they were the ones. but the guy then tells me that they will not go onwithout a bit of work to the arches. now im no pro on these things but if 225-40-17 lowerd will go on why wont 225-40-18 (not lowerd) go on? coz the guy said that it was the width that was the prob.and if the arches do need work, what will need to be done to get these wheels to fit. !amazed
antera309 3
You'll probably just have to have the rear arches rolled.
Nerih 0
saw rs4 18's replicas on a golf mk3 with fk coilovers, didnt see tyres, but i dont think the arches were pulled...i think itll be close though.
chris harrison 0
You'll probably just have to have the rear arches rolled.what if i wanted to lower the car, or would i be really pushing it then? i know a guy who works in a body shop, who would do the work as a faver, so i should just buy the wheels and make them fit. cheers !amazed
mattverth 0
The Mk4 looks fantastic on the glitzy A8 rims, but 18's on a Mk 3? Don't make it a trailer queen........I have once, I think, see the A8 rims as 17's, but I think they were audi 5x112 fitment
chris harrison 0
whats a trailer queen? is that your vr? did you hav 2 do any work on your arches. iv had a look at my vr, and i think if the guy is willing 2 put 205 or even 215 rather than 225 on the alloys, then i think they will go on.
