Jezza 0
This may be a silly question but i need to understand. I have seen a supercharger that has been offered with a dump valve. I dont understand how a dump valve fits onto a supercharger as i thought it released pressure from the turbo. But if a supercharger works off belts etc, then how can you add a dump valve? Many thanks.
Ultimatetune 0
both a supercharger and turbo charger produce positive pressure just by different means, the turbo by compressing air using the wasted exhaust gases and a super charger by compressing the air using a pump run on a belt. On our c2 kits we use a recirculating dump valve that vents the air back into the intake system. you can use an vent to atmos dump valve but there is mixed views as to how well they work on superchargers. Some peoples run ok and other have overfueling problems.
Jezza 0
Many thanks. If you were to get a dump valve or resurculation valve, will it "sneeze"? Im not sure i would like that too much. Might appear to be a bit chavy and more like a R5 GT turbo. Which is not the way to go in my opinion. Just a thought though.
