ukdub 0 Posted October 31, 2005 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 Mine did this, it turned out to be the bearings on the free pully(ie just a pully)a quick squirt with spray greese stopped the noise. A quick fix but it will need changing. Link to post Share on other sites

jayvwvr6 0 Posted October 31, 2005 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 serpentine belt is on the left had side of your engine its not under any covers so you should see it no probs,runs the alternator,waterpump,etc.ribbed if you got air con and flat without aircon i believe? matth76 1 Posted October 31, 2005 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 I have the same "tappety ticking" noise which Stealth Racing said was very normal for a vr6 engine. My engine's done around 73k now. Stealth said it was a mixture of the tappets making a noise (which as mentioned is normal..have to live with the noise) and also a mixture of the belt down the left hand side of the engine...
