alanf 0
MAF what is it? a cheap and nasty way to measure the amount of air flowing into the engine, done by heating a wire up and measureing the current flow across it as it cools due to the air flow, this current is then used by the PCM to adjust the fuel to air ratio well that a couple of other sensors ?! what goes wrong with them? the degrade over time due to the constanst flow of crap over them, they are heated to 800.C+ each time you switch off the engine to burn off any contamination on the wire/ film can they be fixed? some people say yes! they can be cleaned, a good electrical contact cleaner that leaves no residue and a cotton bud used extremely gently so as not to break the wire/film can extend their life !mistrust
