josef123 0 Posted October 6, 2005 Report Share Posted October 6, 2005 hii am proud owner of Golf VR6 1995 (etka-S) .i have an electric sunroof which till aone month ago worked fine. lately it started making problems opening . when i press the open button it moves about 2 inches and stops till i press open again . finnaly it opens to the full but same thing happens with clothing . i went to my VW garege and they told me to check on the water drain hoses . i had dripped some water and it drained fine by all 4 hoses .i am affraid it might be the Engine and it shurely costs a lot .happy to hear any ideas .RegardsVR6 proud owner Link to post Share on other sites
andy 0 Posted October 7, 2005 Report Share Posted October 7, 2005 It sounds like the sunroof parts need greasing, get some white grease (thats important by the way) and work it into the channels and all moving metal parts of the sunroof it may take a bit of time to get it moving freely. It could be a dying motor but try the grease thing first, you can operate the roof with the little (allen key) type handle under the switch cover, it may be best to do so until it frees up to save straining the motor any further.
