Guest fenixtx112
Hey all, new to the forums! My question is if anyone out there knows a guide to deconing the air box for the extra hp gain? or if getting a new cold air intake would be better? And do either of these void the warranty? I am driving s 2003. Thank you
antera309 3
I deconed the airbox on mine and fitted a K&N panel filter a couple of months back. There was no point buying an induction kit 'cos I'm going supercharged later this year.It certainly did improve the induction sound - a recommended mod for that reason alone. It's a tight fit in the airbox, but it does come out if you are persistent. Guest fenixtx112
is it hard to decone the airbox? I personally have never done it before, but i understand it isnt a hard task.
antera309 3
No, not hard, but you have to be quite rough with it. :-)
SankysVR6 1
Dead easy just like antera says you have to be a bit rough with it. I used fairy liquid in the joint to help it ease out.

coullstar 2
I did this yesterday and did about 60miles of motorway driving today and the fuel consumption was way more than usual plus it feels less responsive. Anybody else noticed this?
stu h 0
when i did mine, i noticed it was slightly smoother at low speeds, i.e car park speeds. apart from that, a little bit more noise.
SankysVR6 1
It felt more responsive to me, but a M8 of did it to his C and he said the same thing as coullstar. Have you tried re-setting the ECU.
