VAG COM Fault Code Help

Hello All,

I have just pulled the following fault codes using VAG COM

Control Module Part Number: 021 906 256

Motronic M3.8.1 HS V02

Software Coding: 000

Work Shop Code: WSC 01317

2 Faults Found:

00522 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62)

27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

00579 - Knock Sensor Regulator Cylinder 3

08-10 - Control Limit Surpassed - Intermittent

The first fault [00522] has been present for as long as I can remember. Replacing the sensor G62 (blue ecu sensor - in the thermostat housing) did not resolve!

I believe the second fault occurred today during a 4.5 hr trip. Over the last week or so the engine seems to hesistate occassionally (normally at low revs when pulling off = 800-1200revs). Todays trip boasted some spirited driving and hesistation occurred between 5-6k revs.

I recently replaced the spark plugs. I dont have the the spark plug lead removal tool. Could a damaged lead cause the 'knock' fault?

Reading through the archives other things to try would be:

Replace:

* o2 sensor

* knock sensors

Any ideas how to fix the coolant sensor issue? Are the two faults related?

This has been bugging me for ages so I'll appreciate any help/advice
