VR6Pete 1,455
from yout description, I'd say either;1) crack pipe2) thermostat housing (quite common)Pictures would clarify this.
jayvwvr6 0
if its the long plastic pipe that runs from the thermo housing to the back of the water pump(left had side looking at it) id say it wasnt the pipe but the rubber o seals that it sits into, these perish and leak. tasja 0
hi therei do not think that it is the thermostat housing cause i have just replaced about a month ago.it may be the long black pipe from the housing to the water pump. if it is how do i remove it.thanx
jayvwvr6 0
remove the front only part to the thermo housing(3 allen key bolts facing the radiator) pull this cover hard once the bolts are out coz its a tight push fit, when this pops of the long black pipe will be attatched to this, then wiggle it a bit pulling at the pipe to remove it from the back of water pump, did you replace housing or a garage?as this part would of been disturbed when changing themo housing and should of had new seals replaced then?your need 3 new seal, there only cheap from vw,your best to get these before doing the above.
