VR6OC News Bot 30 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Share Posted February 15, 2017 Australian magazine Motoring reports that some key specifications of the upcoming performance hot hatch, the i30 N, have been accidentally revealed during a presentation in South Korea. According to the presentation, the i30 N will be available in two variants – a 250hp (186kW) model dubbed ‘Road’, and a 275hp (205kW) ‘Track’ version. Both, initially will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission with active rev-matching and be followed by an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with a wet clutch setup instead of today’s dry clutch from 2019. The Track version will also benefit from a mechanical limited-slip differential with electronic control, adjustable dampers, brand’s first ‘E-LSD’ system and a quad-exhaust pipes. Other notable upgrades include a dual-stage stability control system and a number of different driving modes for the engine as well as some visual enhancements, such as a functional aero bodykit with front bumper, a sporty side sills and an aggressive rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin will also feature some enhancements, including the new modified seats with extending bolsters, a new three-spoke steering wheel, a new gear knob and bespoke gauge cluster. Hyundai i30 N performance variant is expected to arrive on the market in December, and will fight against some tough rivals, such as VW Golf GTI, Peugeot 308 GTi and Ford Focus ST.
