NEED HELP WITH VR6 ENGINE SWAP!!!

Hey everyone!

I have a MK4 GTI VR6 (12v) that snapped a timing chain. I got a used 12v vr6 engine that has 140k miles on it from a wrecking yard which I will be rebuilding and swapping in. For the rebuild, I'm prepping it for a future turbo (cams, cai, giac chip, etc). I'm also replacing:

Engine Mounts

Clutch

Crack Pipe

All Gaskets

Piston Rings

Fuel Injectors

Spark Plugs/ Wires

Lifters

Exhaust

Throttle Body

Flex Plate

Water Pump

Timing Chains

Oil Pump

I want to make sure I cover everything while doing the swap so here's my question: What do I need to do while the engine is out?

Do your valve seals and hd springs also while ur in there. I also went ahead and prepped and painted the block since it was convenient. Look into whether or not u want to delete the aux water pump. I got rid of my SAI while i was at it.
