Ainzi 0
Hi there hope everyone's ok I'm new to the site .... Can any one help please ?? My mate has a golf 4motion that keeps boiling up and dropping its coolant Iv checked it over for him and when I bridge the rad fan switch located at the bottom of the rad nothing happens with ignition on or off Iv checked the 40amp fuse on top of the battery that's ok Iv used a power prob to check the fans working on there own at the big multi plugs and they both run Iv read on posted about the fan resistor mod but is this Jst for the low speed fans only ?? Cause the resistors in the fans them selfs have burnt out ?? I have checked the wiring over the best I can with a wiring diagram and I am thinking that the fan control module is at fault.... How common are these to go down ?? Does the resistor mod do away with the fan control module all together or do you still need the fan control module to run the high speed fans ?? He told me at first the fans where coming in only high speed but very late prob 110 on the temp gauge this time the coolant had all ready boiled Could any one help with this problem please don't really want to be buying a fan control module at £90+ if the cheaper opp of the resistor mod does the same job Thanks
