276 cams with standard head gasket?

I'm currently building a 2.8VR 12V

The head is ported and slightly polished, I've shrick 276 cams to go in, IE titanium springs and retainers, super tech exhaust valves (as the standards were well worn)

I also got new valve seals and new hydraulic lifters (VW)

I'm installing the head at the minute, engine out of car as its getting a lot of work done to it.

My main question is will those cams be OK to run with the standard mk3 head gasket?

I know how to check valve clearance, but I can't, as I don't have solid lifters available.

My plan was to install all the timing gear and then turn the engine over by hand and listen for any contact, but this still won't be accurate due to hydraulic lifters.

I've ARP head studs so can take the head off as many times as I need to.
