The new engine comes equipped with two sequential turbochargers and delivers 118 kW/160 hp at 4,000 rpm and 350 Nm torque at only 1,500 rpm. According to company average consumption is just 4.1 l/100km (57 US mpg) on the NEDC combined cycle with 109-106g/km emissions of CO2. The hot hatch sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, while the 80 to 120 km/h acceleration takes 7.5 seconds and tops out at 220 km/h (136 mph). The new four-cylinder diesel engine will be available exclusively in combination with a six-speed manual gearbox. Initially, the new diesel engine will be available only for the Astra 5-door, but in the near future is expected to join the Astra Sports Tourer.
