Window and roof problem

OK, first couple of issues to address, i'm going to presume they are unrelated, but here goes.

Firstly the sun-roof. it only tilts, opens and closes fine, but wont slide. i've stuck the alan key in it, again, I can tilt it and close it, but not slide. anyone have any ideas?

Secondly, drivers electric window.

It opens and closes, but only at a couple of inches at a time. if i hold my finger on the button to open it, it will open 3 inches and stop, i have to release the button and press it again, and again it will only open a further 3 inches, means i have to press and release the button 4 or 5 times to open the window fully, and it's exactly the same when closing.

Anyone any ideas?

Not a clue with the sunroof pal but I'd say the window regulator is tired and ready to give up. I had the same issue then a cable snapped and it did nothing. There not hard to replace as long as you can get the window down to get at the glass clamps. I had to cut the rest of my cables eventually and it will just drop then.

yeh i've stripped a few in the past, do the windows have 1 touch perpetration like newer cars, where you just tap the button and it goes all the way down or all the way up.
