howling mad murdoch 4
Hi. The car is an early 4 motion (single coil)It seems to miss fire at idle? Chucks in loads of fuel and tries to cut out, but as soon as you raise the revs or actually drive it it drives lovely but if you come to a junction it will try to die again.Any ideas Please. Vag com is showing multiple codes from maf to lamda and some other valves as well. Thanks for any suggestions
Mk3highline 287
Can you post up the list of codes? What's been done to the car? Is it standard?
howling mad murdoch 4
The car is standard.the codes are:MAF low signal lambda sensor b2 s2 short to groundsecondary air injection valve short to ground.secondary air pump short to groundevap purge valve short to ground I have changed the maf snd evap for a working one but no difference.I then disconnected the battery and cleaned the throttle body. Now the car runs perfectly but still has all these codes and all the lights on the dash.Any help would be great thank you
Mk3highline 287
Don't worry about the MAF just yet as the secondary air pump sometimes causes to show a faulty maf I'd start with checking the wiring and earths and test the sensors and valve again With them fault codes you will normally lose closed loop/lambda control Can you hear the secondary air pump on cold start up? One on my old 1.8t the sai pump cracked and had a slight leak and threw up a code Also the usual to check breathers etc

mattvr6 133
I'd also check the variable valve timing on live data I've had this problem with a 3.2 a3 should be between -5 to +15 around 1200rpm
howling mad murdoch 4
Cheers guys.silly but I had a blown fuse 43 I think which was the engine control module. Changed that and all lights have gone snd car runs as it should.
