MRH 3
Hi All I'm now on the verge............. First thing to say is I'm a VW Golf man - I've had a few Mk 1's over the years. I now find myself wanting a VR6 and I have been looking for a good few months for a nice standard car that will be used at weekends ( boring I know but I cant helping like standard cars!). Anyhow after 6 months I have come across a really nice example which I'm struggling to put in a "fair" offer/price - please yours views what a fair price is. Here is a brief overview of the car 3 door 1997 Met Green - Manual66,000 milesOne Owner from new ( bought it as a retirement present in 1997!). Totally un marked LEATHER interior/boot - No kids/no smoking/boot/dont think back seats ever used! Full Nappa Leather/Air con/SunroofFull service History - every year without fail = I mean every yearAll the paperwork/aal receipts - everything and I mean everything from day one. External - paintwork like it come out the showromm - just a few stonechips on leading edge - no dents/dinks - nothing - 100% orginal - I would say 9.5 out of 10.Alloys - mint - originalThe car does not go out in the rain - lives inside a heated garage - the guys pride and joy from day one I cannot fault the car - I have looked and tried real hard. Its an exemptional example Like I say I know my Mk1 Golfs and this would be £10K all day long........ But I'm struggling to put in a sensible offer - the guy will let it go..........does £4750 sound OK? Your views - what would you pay - should I go for it - I need to make a decision - any views good or bad. Cheers Martin

VR6CABBS 1,311
Welcome to the club Martin. It does seem a little pricey mate when I bought mine for half of that with 46000 on the clock. Mine was a one owner as well. But at the end of the day it's what the cars worth to you mate. Good luck what ever you decide.
