robvr6 0 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 have still got a problem with my sunroof, it will now only go about halfway back, when i first got it it would go up halfway and back but now only back, i think it is probably the motor as i have changed the switch and it's the same, if i wind it with the allen key thing there is no resistance where the motor stops so nothing seems to be jammed, how easy is a motor to change ? simply a case of removing the 2 screws ? so if anyone has had a similar prob advice would be welcome, if anyone has one laid about let me know Link to post Share on other sites
Matt W 4 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 Not sure on this and its just a wild guess...But maybe (if i remember properly) the belt (poss cable) as slipped. Thus only giving you partial movement when trying to open the sunroof. Try and disconnect the motor and then reconnect it to just power and then see what the motor does. That way you should find out if the motor appears to have full movement! Also check the small PCB board in the switch as sometimes you can get moisture in there that can cause corrosion on the circuits and make the sunroofs do funny things! robvr6 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Author Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 had a play today and the motor was getting very hot, is this normal ?it looks as though the motor has been off before as the bolts holding it on are mismatchedso i'm presuming a previous owner tried to sort this and failed, i have changed the whole unit holding the switch (unrelated problem) and there was no difference, looks like i may have to seek pro advice on this, Link to post Share on other sites
