jumpy car and low topend power?

my Vr had been running a bit dodgy sometimes when i stop at traffic light or a junction and then go to pull away the car starts jumping like cutting out then sorts it self out after 10-15 sec? and no its not my clutch control!! :P also not getting as much top end power as i used to through the gears sort of bottoming out i have a fse boost valve could that be doing it?

any ideas Cheers

Not too sure about the car stuttering for 15 seconds but could be anything in the electrics dept. Coil packs, HT leads, spark plugs... Mine stutters slightly when pulling up at junctions and again at just over 2000rpm. My wife's old Rover (based on Honda engine) did pretty much the same as yours and it turned out to be something as simple (and expensive) as the HT leads. Been looking to replace mine, Magnecor come highly recommended by several tuners and apparantly don;t cost too much more than the originals from the Stealership. While I think of it, could also be the throttle body or inlet manifold. Sometimes a good spray with a decent carb cleaner (if you can't get them off) inside and around frees up accumulated crap. It's worked with mine although I will probably need to have the tb off to clean it properly. Hope this helps. :)
