stockers 1
in addition to above message, the car started to backfire and is still backfiring, after they fitted the new cat (after market vw cat) cheers
Zonda_ 0
I know that all early cats (on any car) had a rotten eggs smell. Maybe it's just taking time to bed in and settle down? How many miles have you done since in was fitted? I guess it'll need to go through a few heat cycles before it's run in.
stockers 1
i reckon ive done about 50-1oo miles, so not that far,it was just worrying as it didnt start straight away
richie-263 0
you get rotten egg smell usually until cat is up to operating temperature i wouldnt suspect a problem from that alone but the backfiring doesnt sound right
