engine swap how can i be legal?

Recommended Posts

So at the moment, you're driving around in a vehicle insured as a 1.6?.

You have no insurance and if the above is true, you've been driving with no insurance since the conversion.

Contact the insurance and ask directly what changes need to occur on paperwork/ inspection, for them to be happy when you do, not did, the conversion.

I drove round with modified insurance with all mods declared, all includes the engine, when I signed the documents asking where the modifications happened I simply wrote "done by my self" the car passed its mots because it didn't matter long as it was safe and the emissions were below the limits, I drive a company car now.

My documents are in the post so with any luck they will come back with the correct details.

Make sure you read. Most insurance companies say legal mods. If it hasn't been engineered or roadworthied then they have the right to reject your claim. I'd have the car inspected after talking to your road transport in your state. Your hanging your job etc on the internet talk. Make sure you do everything properly if your so worried about your job.
