If its a low mileage car they probably havent been done - most need changing around 100k - when you start hearing the draeded rattle you need to start thinking about getting them done - mine has a slight rattle and its done 67k but Im going to see if I can get away with chaning the top tensioner til I can afford to have the whole lot done with the clutch. acf8181 0 Posted May 11, 2005 Report Share Posted May 11, 2005 be aware that they don't always rattle before failing.i am in the process of doing a guide on how to check the condition of the top 'blade' runner (this is the part that tends to show wear first)...it can be checked fairly easily, i just got so much on my plate at the mo that its gonna take me a few weeks.
