Auto or Manual... That is the question...

They do not have an easier life it is a mith. If you want better economy in a manual you change up a gear with autos they will only change up when they want to Unless you stiff it everywhere in which case the gearbox will learn your behaviour and adjust accordingly. Mine is auto and I have had 4 years of fun. Best economy I have seen is 38mpg you can guess the worst is a lot lower. Auto's tend to have lower mileage. I bought my N Reg 96 with 52'000 on the clock and it is now 93'000. Auto's are not very good in icy /Snowy conditions with manuals you can select a higher gear to combat wheelspin.
