Marneus 78
Hi all, I know this has been questioned to death but I have a couple of things that I can't find the answer to. I have a 1996 8v GTI that I'm going to be parting out over the next few months & what I want to know is: Can I use the pedal box from the 8v?Can I use the clutch master/slave cylinder from the 8v?Can I use the hydraulic lines, brackets & other bits from the 8v? I know I'll need a VR6 gearbox, clutch & flywheel but what else will I need? Cheers Jamie
Marneus 78
The 8v is a cable change so a manual conversion is on the back burner for a bit
Lukey. 381
The VR6 is a cable shift aswell?
Marneus 78
Doesn't the 8v have a cable operated clutch & the VR6 needs hydraulic?
Lukey. 381
Ah I thought you were on about the shifter being cable, yea the VR is hydraulic clutch.
Marneus 78
So I'll have to wait till next year & buy a complete MOT failure VR to do the swap, I'll keep the auto & try not to break it by adding more power lol
