legvw 0
Bit of a random question, but I've been thinking....I wonder If 12v timing chains/guides fit on a 24v aue engine? The variable cam timing isn't used on my engine, so deleting it wouldn't be a problem.Anyone tried or know anyone that has???

lider78 0
usually people with 12v chains (double on top) changing a rails and tensioners from 24v coz they are better made.some later models of 12v use a single chain and it was adopted to 24v so i think yes you can do this IMO. Lukey. 381
The single row tensioners are identical part numbers for mk3 and 4 too you know.
UnitedMotorsport 55
The single row tensioners are identical part numbers for mk3 and 4 too you know. No they are not! 12v specific parts part numbers begin 021 and 24v specific begin 022. The only thing they can possibly share is the lower chain parts. No upper chain parts from ANY 24v fit or work with any 12v.

Lukey. 381
Some of them are, probably the bottom ones then
Lukey. 381
Juyst looked it up, the bottom rail and tensioner are the same. The upper rails are different, there's the additional rail between the cam sprockets and all start with 066. Chains are all different.
