bungy 2
After a long break and no feature cars for a year, we thought we would kick off with something very special. This months feature car is owned by Craig , known to all on the forum as Craggsy. The car in question is a mkiv R32 Turbo with a blue Haldex controller. The combination of these 2 major components, as well as the R32 spec make for an impressive performance package all wrapped up in a VW badge. The performance from this special car can and does embarrass exotic marks costing rude amounts of money.Craig has been a member of the club for 7 1/2 years and is now the senior moderator. The majority of this time was spent being the custodian of a mk3 Vr6 which travelled extensively to all the major shows, events and it's annual trip to the Nurburgring. Craigs Vr underwent a continuous series of modifications resulting in it's twilight visit to the Ring as a Rotrex charged, track focussed but slightly poorly Vr6. A combination of the dreaded tin worm and worn rings forced it into retirement. With this car well and truly "spent" Craig kept us all in suspense until finally announcing the purchase of his R32T. There was no time wasted in wrapping his new ride in cotton wool. Craig loves the performance side of driving and can usually be seen queuing at the drag strip ready for the next run or prepping in the car park of the Ring for "another lap". This year saw Craig and some close friends make the extended trip to Austria and Worthersee. This had been a long standing ambition and turned out to be an epic trip/adventure.The list of current modifications :-GT35 TurboFMICCustomer stainless boost hosesUprated fuel pumpH&R arbs front and rearECS Stage 1 rearsECS Stage 5 fronts with EBC yellowstuff padsECS Engine mountsBraided brake hoses all roundBlue Haldex controllerMiltek exhaust with decat3" custom downpipeNew South boost and oil temp gauges mounted behind steering wheelUniBrace XBGenesis 5500cc injectorsForge supersize diverter valveSouthbend Clutch - drag and race paddle clutchCustom-Code stage 3 softwarePioneer AVIC headunit with satnav and Ipod connectionThe car has a rolling road printout of 471.4bhp & 439.8 lb/ft of torqueDV4YH7f12dM&feature The person behind the carName: Craig RobinsonForum user name: CraggsyAge: 38Occupation: Seeking employmentLocation: LeicesterHobbies: CarsLikes: Holidays, a bit of golf and watching sport and drinking and BugJamDislikes: Not working!Car questionsFirst car?: Austin Maestro 1.6 HLSCurrent car?: VW mkiv Golf R32 TurboDream car?: McLaren MP4-12C or Porsche GT2Other cars owned?: Ford Focus, mk3 VR6.What got you into Dubs?: A fella where i worked after leaving school had an immaculate mk2 Golf GTI 16v with full leather and I had to have one, took 4 yrs from seeing it to owning a Golf GTI 16vBest feature on your car?: Blue Haldex controller for the 4WDFuture modifications?: Needs new suspension, GAZ GHA coilovers for meFavorite other member's car?: There's a few but for the work gone into it and still looking standard from out side it has to be Paul Parky....along with his other cars he's madeFavorite show?: BugjamGeneral StuffBlonde or Brunette?
