mcrVR6 0 Posted August 12, 2012 Report Share Posted August 12, 2012 ok so when i start my car when its cold it starts first time however when its upto temp it wont start first turn, usually second but sometimes third, its done this since ive owned it about 2 years but is really anoying and would love to get it sorted, ive asked a couple of general mechanics but they dont know what it is and nothing comes up on the diagnostic machine, anyone know anything to help me out?? thanks Link to post Share on other sites
michaelh 0 Posted August 21, 2012 Report Share Posted August 21, 2012 This may be a fuel vaporization problem. Apparently common as these engines get older and fuel pumps and injectors etc wear. The 'cure' is a complete overhaul of the fuel system but that will be perilously expensive. Experts recommend never switching the car off when hot before allowing to idle for 20-30s. Especially in very hot weather. If not accompanied by serious idle fault may not be a serious problem. Link to post Share on other sites
