ok i have a bad misfire and there is a weak spark from one of the outputs of the coilpack i think...

measured the resistance of the leads and they were all about 6K ohms is this ok?

all the terminals on the coil pack spark when a lead is removed apart from one which appears to have a weaker spark...

can these things be taken apart at all as the inside of the suspect one feels gungy.. i cant see in the end to be sure...

is there a definitve way of checking coil pack / leads so i can be sure...

i dont want to replace it and still have the same problem! when all it could be was a lead!

sorry if im being a bit vague but i'm very tired!

oh and ive put it on the VAG-com and nothin shows up but have cleard codes and will check again in a few days...

Regards

Chris

mine is the same. you can check the coil pack by spraying a light coat of water on it if you see sparks jumping across then its arcing, probably your problem. thats what i done but there was no arcing but thats not to say its not the problem. i changed the plugs and leads and its not as bad but its still not right. i ve got cheap BBT 1s from GSF and im not convinced about them. does yours do it all thru the rev range? does it feel like its hesitating?

they're a genuine part i think? when i took mine off i noticed it was a beru 1 and its been on since new. mines worse lower down. but tends to miss all thru the rev range. strange coz i had it on a rolling road yesterday and the bhp and torque curve seemed quite healthy?

If you do end up getting a coil pack (but hopefully not) check out Ford and get a price as the same part is used one the Sharan 2.8 V6. Ive heard they are much cheaper although i havent compared the actual price at ford to Euro Car Parts price.....
