ashmk3 0
Right, I cracked the sump so jacked car up etc and whilst I was there jacked the engine up to add a spacer on the rear mount to give me more sump clearance. But then I noticed the exhaust was wedged against the tunnel. So took the spacers out and lowered the car back down filled with oil. Before I started it I took the intake tube off and gave it a clean and polished the filter tube up. Put I back together and started the car. Now it idles at 2-2.5k and jerks left right and centre. Now the bonnet was open when it started to rain but not a lot of rain actually got in anywhere. There's no smell of strong fuel , I have taken to intake boot off and checked for cracks. Unplugged maf and car didn't run unplugged isv and nothing happened. Unplugged the tps again nothing happened. Unplugged blue temp sensor and nothing happened. Unplugged lambda and again nothing happened. When I say nothing happened I mean there was no change to the idle.
rsweeney 40
what did you clean air intake with ?
ashmk3 0
Washed it with brake and clutch cleaner then waited till it was dry, but it's just a solid idle at 2k no hunting or misfiring. So when it stops raining I think I'm going to check all wiring and all hoses for vacuum leaks.
