water pump belt broken

hi lads!

Right today i was driving my vr and its been making a weird noise for a while!

i removed the 57i a bit ago to try and listen to the noise more

today the car made a squeeling belt noise then spat the belt!!

i had to drive it for a bit! oil temp went to 160 by the time i could stop the car! it shat its coolant and the battery is dead!!

i got towed home and the engine still runs so hoping ive not fucked it!!

anyone have a rough idea how wrecked it may be or will i be lucky?

how hard is a water pump to replace??

how high did the coolant temp go ??

put some fresh coolant in it and do a head gasket test and find out what caused the belt to go could be the tensioner seized up .....

is that a common thing? pump was replaced ages ago and been quiet!! is a tensioner an easy job and how much?

have know a fare few to go and cause the belt to go, its quite an easy job only held on with 3 bolts ... cant remember how much they are thou !!

Ok ended up having to replace head and gasket ect

But then after when a should have been good I got loads of cream in the header tank shed loads so I cleaned out and flushed with all kinds of stuff and ended up with clear water. After driving for another 20 to 30 miles I now have oil that looks like white coffee and oil in the water again!!!! Agggh

So today I've taken the head off and even though it's supposed to be fine im getting it skimmed and another head gasket set and bolts but some one said the oil cooler may be broken!! Guys do you know or should I roll the car over a cliff somewhere?
