craggsy 91
I don't think obd1 cars run at all without the maf connected. But you can try what is said above

But you can try what is said aboveThey do, but super tricky to pull away from a stand still without stalling and no throttle responce at all.. had it all when mine packed up. ashmk3 0
After I did my conversion my car would start then immediacy cut out, then sometimes it would run and hunt. I traced it down to broken maf wires. Fixed the wires and it now runs.
filtee 0
just unplugged the maf and it started but had to keep revs up took my foot off the throttle and it cut outDoesnt sound like its the maf then if it would tickover before. Try and find some one local with a maf you could try. If it is maf, then try cleaning it. Electrical contact cleaner i think. Just take the maf off and spray the thin contacts. Spray lots then let it dry propeprly.
ashmk3 0
Also check the throttle positions sensor.
michael5556 247
I used carburettor cleaner to clean mine. Worked a treat.
filtee 0
Thats what i used but most people have said its too harsh. I wouldnt know cos mine needed replacing as the carb cleaner did nothing. Or maybe thats why it needed replacing. hhhmmmm.
