russj249 2 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 I'm trying to set up my dump valve properly, as I don't think its doing its job properly.Now, I'm running 14psi, so which spring do I use.I currently have the yellow 15 -23psi spring in, and I don't think its opening unless you take it up to nearly full boost. I tried the green 5 - 15 spring with no spacers, and it made a huge rushing noise, so I suspect it was opening, yet still would make 14psi, so now ive put 2 spacers with green spring, and still making blowing nois at full boost, but does open at a much lower pressure under vacuum.Now, my boss's car, which wad built at stealth has a blue spring, which is a 23 - 30psi spring, but also running 1bar boost.So, What setup are you lot using? as the one seems to open too little and only at full boost, and the other at a lower boost, but I suspect its leaking boost on full throttle.And why would stealth fit a 23 to 30psi spring into a 1bar boost build, unless its been bodged with since then. But i have also turned the valve so the boost pressure is coming in from the side. Like a 20v turbo setup. So the Spring is only resisting againsed vacume pressure. Link to post Share on other sites
russj249 2 Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 13, 2012 Cheers for that Andi i might give that a go..I have done a little testing over this week and put the soft green spring with 2 spacer discs in, however for some reason the car now runs at around 16 or 17psi boost instead of the 14 that the wastegate is set to (just spring no boost controller) why is this? VIW28 29 Posted January 13, 2012 Report Share Posted January 13, 2012 That's interesting, i needed a boost controller to get me 1 bar of boost pressure whilst using a 1 bar spring in the wastegate. Without it it only made 0.7bar. Never had to recirc apart to see but maybe that was at fault... I also ran mine with boost coming into the side of it after United Motorsport pointed it out to me that I had it the other way round. Link to post Share on other sites
