Horn Constantly On

Recommended Posts

Well took out the fuse for the horn and all ok but obviously its not the best not having the bugger working and less ok when coming up to MOT time so looking for a fix.

When I turn the ignition the horn goes off. When I have the centre cap of the aftermarket steering wheel off and start the ignition then no noise so the problem is in the contact which I suppose is a good thing.

I assuming the horn goes off, or should, when the silver cone thing touches the brass type little dot? Or are there any other connections that cause the function?

Any quick fixes or am I looking at a new set of contacts? The bit of the silver cone that touches the brass part is worn a bit but I wouldnt imagine that would be causing the horn to be permanently on, what I think is that the centre cap is prob just worn (or spring isnt working correctly) and going in too far when the unit is reset.

Thoughts?
