DiFontaine 0
So I picked up the Golf VR6 on Tuesday evening and headed down to Dover to meet some friends for a long weekend at the Nurburgring for my 25th birthday on Monday. The boys brought an interesting variety of machinery...The VRLewis' Alfa 155 (2l 16v)Tom's mk1 MR2 1.6, still posted the quickest lap time of the weekend at 10m 30s dead. Not bad! That's not my mum... It's Jake's remapped Scenic, can't remember the bhp but around 300lb/ft apparently. On coilies and OZ Superturismos (I think).Harry's Sierra, 2.9 Granada Cosworth engine and Sierra Cosworth gearbox, suspension and related running gear. Somewhere around the sunny side of 200bhp he reckons. It's a bit of a monster.Group shotAlfa and VR at the info centreGroup shot outside the info centre, a nice girl from behind the counter risked her job to take a photo of us all stood next to our cars here. I'll post it when I get it from Lewis...The perils of camping when it's -3*c overnight...An informative sign in AdenauViews from the top of Nurburg castleAnd finally a group shot, although not of all of us. L-R Harry, Me, Tom, Lewis, Jowan (Lewis' mate)It was a kickass trip and I'd highly recommend you make the effort if you're considering it. The VR did me proud and even returned 17.5mpg when I was ragging it around the 'Ring. A few choice mods and maintenance and it should be much better for our next trip in the spring. All comments and questions welcome

DiFontaine 0
Yeah the climb up the castle gets a little tight and claustrophobic eh?! We didn't have the time or money to do the GP track as well this time but it'll be on the agenda for the next trip. We're planning another trip for mid-April time and hopefully with a few more people next time.
