MJ Vr6 79
yeh ive taken maff back and the coil pack but theres only so many excuses i can make up and im running outof other parts to blame it in than the ones im taking back! It wont start at all now. Was running on 4-5 cycls coming home' date=' then i cut out on a hill and wouldnt start. i managed to bump start it, and limp it home. It cranks now but wont fire. Surely lambda wouldn't make it not start?[/quote']Crank Sensor dude..
Biggazvr6 0
Where can I get a crank sensor today? Rang tps they haven't got one.

Matt82_16v 0
Vag coms showing clean well it was the other day' date=' haven't checked it since as it's s garage who are checking it and now it's stuck on my drive that's put an end to that. I'm just gunna have to bite the bullet and buy all 3. Crank cam and lambada sensor aren't I! Yet more expense! Lol[/quote']not checking for fault codes, check to see whether the lambda is functioning correctly and giving plausible information to the ecu, otherwise youre just throwing money at it, which defies the point of DIY (doing it yourself (properly))
bungy 2
Is there no-one near you that can scan the car and diagnose properly?
Biggazvr6 0
Yeh the garage can. When you say properly what do you mean? As they have scanned it twice and it's clear.
UnitedMotorsport 55
Checking and clearing fault codes is only half of fault diagnosis. Measured values need to be compared to real life values, ie coolant temp showing -20 degrees on a 10 degree day is clearly wrong, but it is plausible to the ECU and it would not bring a error code up for it. As they have scanned it twice and it's clear.Like Matt has already posted above, you may not be showing a logged fault but if it is in doubt you can watch it in "real" time and check the results. It is more of a fine art than clearing codes and waiting. There may be something throwing out weird numbers causing the problems. VCDS or vag-com is a very good tool. Biggazvr6 0
As I've posted above, any body volunteering to work thier Magic with vagcom on my motor?

Biggazvr6 0
So, really cold this morning. Took 13 attempts to start, eventually. Fired up then cut straight out. Does this give anyone any more ideas? I've got water temp sensor on it's way today to see if that cures it?
