Biggazvr6 0
So, I got a tool from gsf. Changed plugs and tried with same leads, no different. Changed leads so it had new leads and plugs, still no better. Its been fine then suddenly started missing ever so slightly but it's getting worse. I've also cleaned the MAff, intake pipe and breather and are all fine. Ive got fuel filter and associated other service parts to do it next week. Any ideas as what to try next? Ben Seabrook 4
Coilpack got any cracks in it ?
Biggazvr6 0
Can't see any, and tried the other night in the dark with must spray looking for sparks but again to no avail. The only other thing is the other night I took ecu out to swap my chip but it was solder. Had a prod round the chip with a small screwdriver. When I put it back in it was fine. Then the next day it developed the missing. I've checked it and it still looks fine. So you hazard a guess at the coil pack?
Ben Seabrook 4
Well its an obvious choice but if you sprayed it and didn't see anything ? Although they don't always show up if you have a friend with another vr worth swapping them to see, the other thing is to disconnect the maf and see if it runs better as that's another common problem
Biggazvr6 0
Tried the MAff. It made a difference the other day, but when it was missing yesterday after doing leads and plugs it didnt make a difference when I unplugged it. Don't have any pals with vr's to try and swap it. Just seems strange how it's happened all of a sudden. It's bloody annoying and its only been doing it since Wednesday! Not sure who's from Lancashire on here to try and get someone to let me try and swap it! Lol
amrits9 0
(worth a shot).... have a look at the plugs on the injectors...i had the same kind of problem as you, my ht leads were fine, plugs were fine, coilpack needed changing, and it was still misfiring slightly lol ended up being 1 of the plugs on top of the injectors was loose :| , VAGCOM? - see what comes up it may help?? Vw_owner 1
unplug the maf and check the connectors, my corrado has a tendancy to let water into this connection, depending on how damp it gets it can kangaroo, rev real low up and down and if its flooded with water it will do the above but the battery light will also come on and cut out unless you hold the throttle down, its un driveable at that point, an easy fix is to blow the water out and squirt wd 40 or something similar after that its mint! so give that a try even if it looks dry as itll do no harm..
