webb770 0 Posted October 1, 2011 Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Working on the golf at the moment and have repaired all wholes/splits in the air pipes and changed plugs and leads.First time we started it it ran gorgeous, turned it off and now every time you start the car it will tick over at 3k and if you rev it the revs wont drop.We have put it on the scanner but it just says no codes present???Can anyone help as im stranded at the moment? russj249 2 Posted October 1, 2011 Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Idle valve on obd2 is built into the throttle body. are you sure every single thing is plugged in properly.mine ran at 2500 after they changed my windscreen. turned out they'd cut a wire on ecu loom.if it ran perfect before, go over every single thing you've done. webb770 0 Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Problem seems to be fixed! Wa a bit of a weird one tho. We pulled the throttle body apart and checked it all, it was then dropping revs when you put your foot down but then revving it. Giving up for the day gave it a service and found the fuel filter was broken inside affecting the flow of petrol (as it was blocking the pipe. New fuel filter fitted and all is good ;p CHEAP FIX!still going to change the throttle body just incase.Cheers everyone for your help!! Link to post Share on other sites
