Rustyman 0
Okey dokey VW Nuts...I have been looking into fuels of late ... as i am staying NA i want as much go go from my juice as possible.. Looked at SUNOCO Fuels around £100 a barrell.. very tempting BUT.... What's the highest ocatine i can run on stock internals and in injectors with just a remapped ECU exhaust & filter ... ?? I have looked at the 102 RON but i see there's fuel upto 105 RON So can i run it ???
FishWick 21
Sunoco goes up to 115 ish octane IIRC. I know the guy who runs Hauser Racing in Northants (Drag car specialist) and he was telling about one of his 15:1 compression drag V8s running Sunoco 115 octane. 25psi and no det!! It's what Sunoco is made for. It'll have minimal effect on a standard VR6 engine. It will enable you to run more ignition advance but that won't yield huge amounts of power. Nex 17
I have run 102 in mine before, went quite nicely lol I wouldn’t think there would be a problem running 105, I dont think it would do your engine any harm Kev what with the FishWick? lol
FishWick 21
It'll do no harm to the engine no, but it may harm your wallet, depending on how many litres a barrell is Also important to use a fuel that's got no lead additives or it'll feck the cat, if fitted.Fishwick, lol, that's my username on the Corrado forum so I'm just going for some consistency.Dunno where the inspiration came from. Was watching Coronation street one day and a bloke on there was called Colin Fishwick, which I liked the sound of, LOL!
Rustyman 0
Cool thanks... got that down no lead and 102 RON upto 115 RON is ok on standard internals ... i just want as much bang for my buck with the simple mods i have ... as the car is stripped out for track days and still used as transport to and from work i don't use it that often so a barrell should last me a while... mix that in with a NOS system and i think it'll do good things on track and the road...
