851corsa 0
Having just nudged 80K a dashboard warning light is now informing me of some problem with the cat.I assume as long as it is replaced before the next MOT it is ok, or will it develop other issues if I don't do it immediately. The car is on an X plate does broaden my options? bungy 2
The cats are dual and running in parallel. Are you getting lambda fault codes? The are four lambda's.
851corsa 0
Hi Bungy,I am getting the 'exhaust warning lamp'I do not have VAGCOM so know nothing more than this. From your question it take it, it could just mean that a lamda probe has gone and not the actual cat, is that right? craggsy 91
More than likely a lambda is having a bit of a blonde moment. If you had VAGCOM you could clear it and see if it comes back, mine sometimes throws the light up, so I clear the fault and its stays gone
851corsa 0
Yes,I must get my own VAGCOM...........Cheers.
851corsa 0
Can anyone point me to a 'how to' for removing and cleaning the Lambda probes?I would like to do this to eliminate the possibility of carbon build up (dirt), prior to being stung by dealer at service time for a replacement probe/s.Would VAGCOM pinpoint the probe that is causing the warning light to stay on.Thanks. 851corsa 0
its a year 2000, 1JZ chassis series?!Is this a more suitable one?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160642945058?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1170wt_956Where would I plug this in?Thanks. bungy 2
Where are you based as I'd happily scan your car for you. You'll need to remove the cat to access the lambda's easily and there are 2 in the down pipe. I do have some spares.
851corsa 0
Thanks Bungy. 'ace cafe' a good meeting spot?I am going to buy the VAGCOM anyway as I am bound to need it.Regards,

Just_Paul 0
ive just googled it, and a couple of places are saying the same place as a mk3, so next to the ashtray; in the mk 3, u take the ashtray out, and slide a small rectangular panel to the right, hope this helps! Nex 17
Hi buddy, if you look at the centre consol there is a bit of wood trim at the bottom under the heater controls and above the ashtray, you pull that bit of wood off and it is under there. when done just clip it back on
851corsa 0
Hi buddy' date=' if you look at the centre consol there is a bit of wood trim at the bottom under the heater controls and above the ashtray, you pull that bit of wood off and it is under there. when done just clip it back on [/quote']Nex is correct, Sorry just_Paul but it seems the mk4 has it in a different place, thanks, though for taking the time.I have plugged it in, scanned the 4 systems (ENGINE, A/T, SRS and ABS) and got 2 codes.17516........02 sensor circuit heating circuit (BS2-S1) - Output too low.18010........Power Supply (B+) Terminal 30 - Low Voltage1) What on earth does this mean?2) What is system 2 "A/T" and system 3 "SRS"?I opted to erase the codes and sure enough the dashboard warning light has gone. I will see if it comes on again during my next drive. My assumption is that if it stays off, it was a temporary glitch and if it comes on there is an actual fault. Is this logical? Thanks again.
