russj249 2
Would it be possible to make a mk3 intercooler fit a vr6 to use with a 7psi turbo build. My thinking is that all of the mounts will be there and fit neatly without no cutting of the bumper etc. Id need to find out what size the inlet and outlet pipes are.My reason for asking is somebody is breaking a mk3 tdi 30 second walk from my house!! legvw 0
Sounds like a sensible plan, why not give it a go and post up on here how efficient it is. In theory it should be fine, as the tdi will only boost around that sort of figure.Where does it mount? Just a thought, but the vr front panel v's the tdi front panel might be slightly different/different size rad etc.
russj249 2
I haven't actually looked yet, it's on eBay, but from what I've seen before they are in front of one of the front wheels like the standard mk4 20vt. Infact I think the intercooler is the same, just plastic rather than alu like the 20vt's.If it does fit, i should be able to take out one of the front blanking panels from the lower part of the bumper. jims13 6
m sure mk3 tdi's are inner wing mounted .. so it should work .. best to compare an etka drawing with a standard vr6 one .
FishWick 21
TDIs and 1.8Ts use miniscule turbos and stock sized side mounts are nowhere near man enough for a GT30 or bigger, at any boost pressure.People are so hung up on psi. Forget psi and think flow.
