[moved] Respray by the Phirm

Recommended Posts

Hi, I don't usually post on this forum as I don't have a VR!! But I know that a few of you have been using the Phirm recently for work done to your cars.

I've been going to the Phirm for probably over a year now to have various bits of work done to my gti and have always been more than happy with their work. I know I'm really echoing everyone's opinion of them but their work really is fantastic, the honesty and attention to detail are better than any other company I've used, or even heard of!!

Anyway, enough waffle. I'm sure some of you have seen the photos on edition38 and no-rice...

After what I will descibe as a series of unfortunate events invloving myself and a few mkIV Golfs, Chris was given the task of repairing and painting my car. I have now managed to have an almost total respray bar the roof, tailgate and passenger door.

It went into the Phirm as a standard mkIII gti 8v so had all the trim and textured bumpers and came out looking like this, I don't have to tell you how chuffed to bits I am!!

(don't mention the headlights or wheels though!!)

As you can see it's all now smoothed and colour coded. No high build primer on the bumpers, he sat there with the wet and dry and rubbed the plastic smooth on the top of the front and the top and bottom of the rear bumper. When we took the arch mouldings off they had cut into all four arches so they need rubbing down and repainting. New VR side mouldings, straightened and painted bonnet, staightened and painted drivers door and a new grille!! I couldn't believe just how good the car looked and how amazing the paint job was....

If you need anything done, you know where to go!! www.thephirm.co.uk 01428 608 480

All say forbidden? Should be fine as they are just hosted on imagestation. Don't know why they aren't actually showing on the screen as they were bracketed with the img???

It was through insurance so I just had the pleasure of paying the excess!!

Yeah I met Tim and Ian at No Rice ages and ages ago and have been going there ever since for mechanical work, this is the first time I've had any paintwork done and I'm chuffed to bits!!

Just need to sort the rims and get a driver's side mkIV headlight!
