paceo 22
had a guy come round today yo do the tracking on my 1992 golf vr6 with his laser system! he said check the track rod ends are the same! which they looked the same!!problem is the car is 1mm out either side so thats 2mm, you are only allowed 1mm tollerance with these cars, so 0.5mm either side. its pointing in so the outside of the tyre will wear.there was not enough thread on the inside of the track rod end to wind the steering rack arm into it, so i ask, what is the right track rod ends i need to do this with so the tracking is spot on? i got the parts from GSF. Vw_owner 1
if theres still threads left on the track rod, just cut it down a few mm so the rod end can come in abit more.

sharma187 0
He's right that's what you need to do just make sure that you've got enough thread left to allow movement for the locking nut.
marky_boy 1
i've got the same problem mine is 3mm out still and i've got no thread left so they need cutting and a tap running down them.
