hi m8, small world!! im also from the rock! aka guernsey,

just looked up my spark plugs for my vr6 and its a 14mm thread so in theory the kit you got should be fine, are you only thinking the inserts to big because its a slopy fit on the plug? if i remember correctly {its been a few years since i used heli coil} the insert will get slightly smaller when its skrewed into the metal,get a scarp peice of metal and drill a hole and basicaly test it out, it might be ok

not sure exactly what you mean? but the thread length on my plug is 19mm aslong as the coil can bite enough thread so it can be done up tight without striping it should be fine, but like i said, to be on the safe side rather then drill into your motor, do it all on scrap metal first then tighten down the insert then put the plug in nice and tight and see if it holds if it does your sorted!!, when i used heli coil it was only for an m6 bolt and the coil threads didnt exatly match properly but it worked..good luck hope it goes well!
